How Long Are The Lessons?
Individual guitar and piano lessons are 30 minutes long, once a
week. Guitar classes are an hour long, once a week.
To make the most of your lesson time:
1) Please have your guitar tuned before class to save time.
2) Arrive on-time.
3) Quickly set up your music stand and book and begin your fret
exercises.
4) The final five minutes of class are used for packing up equipment.
During this time, I will write out practice assignments for each class
member.
To make advancement in this course, those who sign up need to
make a personal commitment to:
* practice regularly at home
* make all lessons
* stick with the program through the spring recital.
What Do I Need to Bring?
1) Guitar and amp if its electric
2) Course book
3) Assignment book
4) Folder for handouts
5) Music stand and footstool
6) Enrollment fee at the first lesson of each month
What About Missed Lessons?
Learning to play music is a rewarding investment of time and
money.
The key word here is "investment". To achieve the best results,
lessons need to be attended each week. Missed lessons will not be
refunded.
For best results, we suggest parents and students commit to the
course through the recital. Parents need to weigh this against other
obligations (sports, church, etc.) to see if they can realistically have
their children make weekly lessons and have practice time at home.
If there is an emergency, please notify us as soon as possible.
Outside of emergencies, if a student misses one lesson without
contacting us, or misses two lessons in a month, he or she will be
dismissed from the class. A $15 re-enrollment fee will be applied if
the student re-enrolls later.
How Much is the Enrollment Fee?

Individual and class lessons are $60 a month. This covers four
lessons per month.
The enrollment fee is due at the first lesson of each month. Late
payments will be charged an extra $5.
How Long is The Overall Course?
There are two basic schedules: school year and summer.
The school year schedule begins in September and ends in May. We
do not teach during Thanksgiving break, Christmas break and
Spring break as determined by the public school calendar.
The highlight of the nine-month course is the spring rock concert ...
uh, I mean... recital. Students are eligible to play in the recital if
they enroll between the beginning of September and the beginning of
January. The recital gives students a chance to showcase the skills
they have developed in an entertaining environment.
The summer schedule (June, July and August) is mainly for those
adults and children who cannot take lessons during the school year.
It does not include a recital. However, summer students are more
than welcome to join the main course (depending on space available)
in September and play in the spring recital.
There is no limit to what you can learn on the guitar. Students are
encouraged to return and improve their skills each year.
