Graves Guitar Studio
For beginning students, there are two basic
schedules: school year and summer.
The school year schedule begins in September
and ends in May. We do not teach during
Thanksgiving break, Christmas break and Spring
break as determined by the public school
calendar.
The highlight of the nine-month course is the
spring recital. Students are eligible to play in the
recital if they enroll between the beginning of
September and the beginning of January. The
recital gives students a chance to showcase the
skills they have developed in an entertaining
environment.
The summer schedule (June, July and August) is
mainly for those adults and children who cannot
take lessons during the school year. It does not
include a recital. However, summer students are
more than welcome to join the main course
(depending on space available) in September and
play in the spring recital.
There is no limit to what you can learn on the
guitar. Students are encouraged to return and
improve their skills each year as part of the Rock
N' Roll Boot Camp!
Music is best when it is shared!
Advancing students who enroll during the school year
will spend September through December sharpening
their skills with individual 30 minute lessons.
Then in January, students will be grouped up into
bands and will perform together during a special spring
recital!
Bands will usually be made up of three guitar players.
Piano and bass students will be part of some groups
depending on enrollment.
All we ask of Boot Camp students is that they commit
to their band through the spring recital, usually held in
May. These bands will work together in a class setting,
with lessons being 60 minutes long.
Boot Camp students can also audition for solo
performances.
Advancing students are welcome to take lessons during
summer. No recitals are planned during the summer
month, but some students may be able to play at local
events as the need arises.
Two recitals are held each spring, one for beginning and one for advancing students!
